SVNIT Surat Admissions

SVNIT Surat BTech Admission Process

SVNIT Surat MTech Admission Process

  1. Appear for GATE and Score a Valid GATE Score: The GATE score is required for all MTech applicants at SVNIT Surat. The minimum GATE score required varies depending on the program and category.
  2. Register for CCMT Counselling: CCMT (Centralized Counselling for MTech is a centralised counselling process for admission to MTech programs at NITs and other participating institutes. To register for CCMT counselling, visit the CCMT website and create an account.

  1. A bachelor's degree in engineering or technology (BE/BTech) from an accredited university or institution, With a minimum overall score of 60% or equivalent. CGPA of 6.5 (55% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD category).
  2. A valid GATE score in the relevant subject.
  3. Two years of work experience after graduation is required for admission to the MTech (Sponsored) program.

SVNIT Surat MTech Selection Criteria

The candidate selection process is conducted through the CCMT Counseling process. Seats are assigned based on the following criteria:

  1. Apply for JEE Main: Candidates must apply for and successfully clear the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. This examination is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Ministry of Education (MoE).

  1. To be eligible, applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field from a recognised university or institute, with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates).
  2.  The candidate must successfully finish the qualifying examination within the preceding two years.
  3. If the candidate is appearing for the qualifying examination in the current year, they must have secured at least 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST candidates) in all the subjects studied in the first three years of the degree course.

SVNIT Surat PhD Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification: 
    1. For eligibility, candidates should possess a Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, Management, or Humanities or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university or institute.
    2. They should maintain a minimum score of 60% (CGPA 6.0) or equivalent in the relevant faculty for open, open-EW, and OBC candidates. In contrast, a score of 55% (CGPA 5.5) is required for SC, ST, and PWD candidates.

SVNIT Surat PhD Selection Criteria

  1. Full-time Institute Research scholars (FIR) taking admission to PhD Programs in Engineering, Sciences, English, and Management should have qualified.
  2. Should have engaged with GATE, NET, or CAT Examinations at least once during their academic journey.
